Scroll Portable Air High Performance Air Compressor Oil Free Scroll Air Compressor Pump

The oil-free scroll air compression main engine is the latest air compressor developed in recent years. Compared with the traditional air compressor, it has novel structure, small size, light weight, low noise, long service life and stable and continuous gas transmission. It is easy to operate, low maintenance cost and other excellent technical performance. It is praised as “no maintenance air compressor” and “new revolutionary air compressor” in the industry. It is the ideal model for air compressors below 50HP.

Working principle of scroll compressor

The oil-free scroll-type air compressor is formed by the mutual meshing of the moving and stationary scrolls of 2 double-function equation lines. During the process of suction, compression and exhaust, the static plate is fixed on the frame, and the moving plate is driven by the eccentric shaft and is restricted by the anti-rotation mechanism, and rotates around the center of the base of the static disk to make a plane with a small radius. The gas is sucked into the periphery of the stationary disk through the air filter. As the eccentric shaft rotates, the gas is gradually compressed in a plurality of crescent-shaped compression chambers combined with the dynamic and static disk phasing, and then continuously discharged from the axial holes of the central portion of the stationary disk.

What Is the Role of Air Dryers in Oil-Free Scroll Compressor Systems?

Air dryers play a crucial role in oil-free scroll compressor systems by removing moisture from the compressed air. Here’s a detailed explanation:

Moisture Control:

One of the primary functions of air dryers in oil-free scroll compressor systems is to control and remove moisture from the compressed air. Air naturally contains moisture in the form of water vapor, and when air is compressed, its capacity to hold moisture increases. If this moisture-laden compressed air is not adequately treated, it can cause various issues such as corrosion, equipment damage, decreased efficiency, and compromised product quality. Air dryers ensure that the moisture content in the compressed air is reduced to acceptable levels, preventing these problems.

Dew Point Control:

Air dryers help control the dew point of the compressed air. The dew point is the temperature at which the moisture in the air begins to condense into liquid water. By lowering the dew point, air dryers ensure that the compressed air remains dry, reducing the risk of condensation in downstream equipment and processes. This is particularly important in applications where dry air is critical, such as in electronics manufacturing, pneumatic control systems, and certain industrial processes.

Types of Air Dryers:

There are different types of air dryers used in oil-free scroll compressor systems, each with its own principles of operation and suitability for specific applications:

– Refrigerated Dryers: Refrigerated dryers use a cooling process to condense and remove moisture from the compressed air. The compressed air is cooled to lower temperatures, causing the moisture to condense into liquid form, which is then separated and drained. Refrigerated dryers are cost-effective and widely used in various applications where a moderate level of dryness is required.

– Desiccant Dryers: Desiccant dryers use a desiccant material, such as silica gel or activated alumina, to adsorb moisture from the compressed air. The desiccant material attracts and traps the moisture molecules, allowing for extremely low dew points to be achieved. Desiccant dryers are commonly used in applications where extremely dry air is necessary, such as in laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and critical industrial processes.

– Membrane Dryers: Membrane dryers employ a selectively permeable membrane to separate moisture from the compressed air. The membrane allows water vapor to pass through while blocking other gases and contaminants. Membrane dryers are compact, energy-efficient, and suitable for applications where a lower dew point is required, but not as low as what can be achieved with desiccant dryers.

Benefits of Air Dryers:

The use of air dryers in oil-free scroll compressor systems offers several benefits:

– Protection of Equipment: Air dryers help prevent moisture-related damage to downstream equipment such as pneumatic tools, valves, control systems, and instruments. By removing moisture from the compressed air, air dryers minimize the risk of corrosion, malfunctions, and premature wear and tear.

– Enhanced Product Quality: In applications where compressed air comes into contact with products or processes, such as in food and beverage production or pharmaceutical manufacturing, air dryers ensure that the compressed air is free from moisture that could compromise product quality, integrity, and stability.

– Energy Efficiency: Dry compressed air requires less energy to operate pneumatic equipment and processes, as moisture-free air reduces friction and pressure drops. Air dryers contribute to overall energy efficiency in oil-free scroll compressor systems by delivering dry air that optimizes the performance of downstream equipment.

– Extended Equipment Lifespan: By controlling moisture and preventing corrosion and damage, air dryers help extend the lifespan of the compressor and other equipment in the system. This reduces maintenance costs and downtime, contributing to overall system reliability and longevity.

In summary, air dryers are essential components in oil-free scroll compressor systems, working to remove moisture and control the dew point of the compressed air. They contribute to improved equipment performance, enhanced product quality, energy efficiency, and prolonged equipment lifespan.

What Is the Impact of Oil-Free Technology on Compressor Noise Levels?

The use of oil-free technology in compressors can have a positive impact on reducing compressor noise levels. Here’s a detailed explanation:

Noise Reduction Benefits:

Oil-free technology in compressors, such as oil-free scroll compressors, is designed to operate without the need for lubricating oil. This eliminates the presence of moving parts submerged in oil, which can contribute to noise generation. As a result, oil-free compressors tend to produce lower noise levels compared to oil-injected compressors.

Scroll Compressor Design:

Oil-free scroll compressors utilize a specific design that helps reduce noise levels. The scroll compressor consists of two intermeshing spiral scrolls—one fixed and one orbiting—that compress the air. The design and construction of the scrolls, along with the absence of lubricating oil, contribute to smoother and quieter operation. The interlocking scrolls create compression pockets that minimize pulsation and vibration, resulting in reduced noise emissions.

Noisy Components Elimination:

Oil-injected compressors often have noisy components associated with the lubrication system, such as oil pumps and oil separators. In oil-free compressors, these components are eliminated since there is no need for oil lubrication. The absence of these components contributes to lower noise levels and a quieter operation of oil-free compressors.

Sound Insulation:

Manufacturers of oil-free compressors often incorporate sound insulation measures in the design of their products. This can include the use of sound-dampening materials and enclosures to reduce noise transmission. These insulation measures help further mitigate noise levels and create a quieter operating environment.

However, it’s important to note that while oil-free technology can contribute to reducing compressor noise levels, the overall noise output is also influenced by other factors such as compressor size, operating conditions, and the presence of additional noise reduction features. It’s recommended to consult the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines to determine the expected noise levels of a specific oil-free compressor model.

In summary, the use of oil-free technology in compressors, such as oil-free scroll compressors, can have a positive impact on reducing compressor noise levels. The absence of lubricating oil, specialized scroll compressor design, elimination of noisy components, and incorporation of sound insulation measures contribute to quieter operation. However, it’s important to consider other factors that can influence noise levels and consult manufacturer specifications for accurate noise level information.

Are Oil-Free Scroll Compressors More Energy-Efficient?

Yes, oil-free scroll compressors are known for their high energy efficiency. Here’s a detailed explanation:

Scroll Compressor Design:

Oil-free scroll compressors utilize a unique scroll mechanism that enables continuous compression. The scrolls, consisting of interleaved fixed and orbiting spirals, create a series of crescent-shaped gas pockets. As the orbiting scroll moves, it compresses the gas trapped in the pockets, resulting in the compression process. The continuous compression action minimizes internal leakage and improves volumetric efficiency, leading to higher energy efficiency compared to other compressor types.

Reduced Energy Consumption:

The efficient design of oil-free scroll compressors reduces energy consumption. The continuous compression action eliminates the need for clearance pockets or re-expansion chambers found in other compressor types, reducing energy losses associated with these components. Additionally, the scroll mechanism operates with minimal friction, resulting in less energy wasted as heat. The reduced energy consumption translates into lower operating costs and energy savings over the compressor’s lifetime.

Unload and Load Capacity Control:

Oil-free scroll compressors can be equipped with unload and load capacity control mechanisms to further enhance energy efficiency. Unload control allows the compressor to temporarily stop compression when the demand for compressed air decreases, reducing energy consumption during periods of low demand. Load capacity control adjusts the compressor’s capacity based on the compressed air demand, matching the output to the required load and optimizing energy usage. These control mechanisms ensure that the compressor operates efficiently, delivering the required compressed air while minimizing energy wastage.

Air Leakage Reduction:

Air leakage is a common source of energy loss in compressed air systems. Oil-free scroll compressors are designed to minimize internal and external air leakage. The scroll mechanism operates with precision tolerances, reducing internal leakage and ensuring efficient compression. Additionally, oil-free scroll compressors typically feature advanced sealing arrangements to minimize external air leakage. By reducing air leakage, energy losses are minimized, leading to improved energy efficiency.

Overall, oil-free scroll compressors are more energy-efficient compared to many other compressor types. Their unique scroll compressor design, reduced energy consumption, unload and load capacity control options, and air leakage reduction contribute to their high energy efficiency. Choosing an energy-efficient compressor can result in significant cost savings and a reduced environmental footprint for industries that rely on compressed air systems.
